What I learned at “Creation 2010″ Part II

We were in the midst of an extreme catching up process after attending “Creation 2010″, which required posting political heavyweight issues and semi-professional attempts at humor during the last week.  Please permit me to jump on my latest tangent too; I had stumbled upon “Klingons for Jesus” that lambasted Christians as bloodthirsty evil perps that have literally killed millions of people throughout world history. I felt compelled to respond via email in a loving fashion on their website, while attempting to set the record straight for these misguided folks that were equating Klingons of Star Trek fame with Christians.  It took me three times to deliver my email to this website, but it was worth it. Christians can not continue to be “sheeple”, especially when the world has us in the crosshares targeted for destruction.

People say that I’m exaggerating when I say that Christians could be slated as criminals in the future. I’m not saying that there will be sporting contests down the road like during the Ancient Roman days such as Lions 5 and the Christians 0, but already many countries including Canada have deemed parts of Christianity as hate speech. Case in point, Ministers in Canada can be hauled off to jail for delivering sermons with quotes from the Bible that says that homosexuality is a sin. Ann Coulter found out all about the lack of free speech in Canada when she was threatened with some not so quality time in the slammer if her speech at the University of Ottawa wasn’t politically correct. Liberal Democrats are working on shredding the First Amendment as they only believe in free speech when you agree with them. Their comically transparent strategy of calling all critics of President Obama as racist’s is insulting, coupled with branding all folks that want our borders enforced as “haters” too.

Here is my letter to the “Klingons for Jesus” website!

“I know that your website is supposed to be parody, but unsubstantiated propaganda is not funny. Christians have not killed millions of people. The Crusades back in the Middle Ages were Christians fighting back against Islam that was bent on conquering the world. Clearly, some things never change as radical Muslims are the primary source of terrorism in the modern world too!

Have Christians made mistakes? Absolutely. But, let’s take a look at the work of Christians through the ages with an array of charities and humanitarian missions where they had clearly made an amazing difference in the lives of millions of people.

Christianity is a religion of love and tolerance, and the only path toward eternal life in heaven. Conversely, we don’t impose our beliefs on others, despite many of us wanting to reach people for Christ as an eternal life with Jesus versus a fiery forever with the diabolical Satan in hell is an easy choice. Moreover, what would the world look like today if Christianity did not exist?

I will say a prayer for you so that you can one day know the boundless love of Jesus Christ who died for all of us so that we may live forever. If you desire God’s free gift all you have to do invite Jesus into your life, repent of your sins and walk with Him.

Sincerely,
Wayde

And, now without further adeiu;  my humblest apologies for taking so long to author the sequel to the first Creation 2010 article.

The concerts at Creation 2010 were electric audiological delights with tens of thousands of revelers jumping for joy as the star performers such as David Crowder Band, Switchfoot, Newsboys and Casting Crowns simply delivered inspired performances. But, some of my most memorable highlights centered on the stellar speakers that talked about miracles and living a life of excellence that puts God first and foremost.

The first speaker was the charismatic Minister Reggie Dabbs who told a story of standing in line at a grocery store where a women didn’t have enough money to pay for a coffee machine and the clerk was unsympathetic to her plight. The poor lady on the verge of tears was rescued by Dabbs who gave her money to complete the purchase over the objection of the employee who fought him. The lady broke down outside of the supermarket, but fortunately Dabb’s wife intervened as she was fluent in Spanish in order to hear the “rest of the story”.  They insisted that the women let them drive her home after finding out that the women’s husband was dying of cancer. They prayed over the man and comforted the family.

This is love in action, but Dabb’s testimony was unbelievable as he has literally saved thousands of lives with his work around the globe. But, even more astonishing is that Dabbs was the result of a $20 “trick” as his prostitute mom and a “John” produced him. God is all about miracles and Reggie Dabb’s is somebody that didn’t wallow in his past, rather he rolled up his sleeves to work for the Father with incredible stories of happy endings. I saw thousands of people respond to his altar call at Creation 2010 proving that “nothing is impossible with God”.

The next speaker that I wanted to feature was the incomparable Justin Lookadoo who was a cross between a frenetic stand-up comedian and a sage Apostle who actually even said something so crazy that the interpreter (sign language) women stopped in her tracks on one of his rapid fire lines. Lookadoo had an  impressive story that was borne out of hunger as he ambled into a McDonald’s restaurant for some fast food when the lady waiting on him asked what his bracelet that said “Is it holy?” meant. Lookadoo explained to the women that he wore that bracelet to make sure that he followed God in his life, and offered to give her another bracelet just like his, which prompted her to break down into tears. Lookadoo said to the audience that he was thinking “Oh no, I just wanted something to eat and what have I gotten myself into”, but quickly recovered to ask that lady if he could help her. She told Justin that earlier in the day that she thought about committing suicide as her life seemed to be in shambles, but prayed for a sign from God to stop her from killing herself. The clerk thanked Lookadoo profusely for being the “Sign from God”!

Lookadoo talked about giving out hundreds of the bracelets to people that ask what it means. He elaborated on these bracelets by explaining how many of today’s Christians ask “Is it okay?” that is connected to the world’s standards such as a 13 year old seeing a PG 13 movie that has people “hooking up” when there not married. If we go by the world’s morals then it is okay, but “Is it holy?” and does it glofify God.

Lookadoo also talked about many of the problems in society are caused by “men that have checked out”. Single mom’s are doing the best job that they can under difficult circumstances, but a son cannot be taught to be a man by a women and a daughter can’t get validation of being beautiful from a mom like she can from her dad, according to Lookadoo. He did extoll the virtues of mom’s namely that they can keep their children alive because their insane dad’s sometimes put their kids at risk through a combination of extreme sports and a only a modicum of common sense.

Lookadoo has authored several books and his redneck family was uninterested in all of his awards, until his books were featured in WalMart, and then they went hillbilly crazy jumping up and down with excitement. He also talked about “taking the hit” with limits for children when they break rules. In other words, say your kid has an 11:00 p.m curfew and they stroll in at midnight. Don’t start an argument at that time, but have a meeting with them the next day where you say “I’m sorry, but I think I gave you too much freedom when I set your curfew, which is my fault, so we are going to have to roll it back to 10:30 p.m.” Likewise he said that your kids should receive all of the accodales and bouquets from parents when they do a good job by following rules where you praise them by maybe extending their curfew for showing such maturity and responsibility.

It was a fabulous time at Creation 2010 and if your interested mark time off in July for “Creation 2011″ as I’m sure that it will be another transformative event in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania and the Pacific Northwest in August.
